The Intervenant Attendant is responsible for providing services in the AVQ and AVD as well as basic care to an aging clientele with physical and/or cognitive problems.
Tasks
- Room service
- Room service if required by resident’s health
- Distribution and recovery of trays
- Table service
- Transports clean dishes, utensils and other items to service areas and sets up tables as instructed
- Full meal service
- Clean tables, set tables and wash dishes
- Filling of provisions and setting up (e.g. sugar bowl, salt shaker, etc.)
- Dining room maintenance
and salon- Wash counters, sinks, tablecloths, refrigerator, floor in front of service counter, etc.
- Floor sweeping
- Cleaning of specific stains or damage
- Dust chairs, tables, sugar bowls, salt shakers, pepper shakers, etc.
- Drug distribution
- Distribution or administration of medication according to very specific instructions, in the bedroom or dining room
- Measures blood pressure, takes blood sugar, temperature and pulse and, if applicable, notes results on file and notifies manager of any situation that does not appear normal
- Residents laundry
- Laundry washing and folding
- Delivery to the resident
- Well-being of residents
- Help with clothing when getting up and going to bed
- Complete or partial personal hygiene aid
- Incontinence pant changes per resident’s personalized schedule
- Empty garbage
- Bed changes and make bed as needed
- Assists residents to facilitate orientation
- Support for residents
- Snacks and activities
- Preparation and distribution of snacks if health requires
- Invites residents to participate in daily and domestic activities
- Performs simple animation such as; bingo, music, pocket play, etc.
- On call calls
- Priority response to on call calls (doorbell)
- Making decisions in emergency situations
- Any other tasks that may be requested by management
